The following information session may be of interest to public library staff.
Two years ago Alexander Street Press ran a number of sessions in Australia and New Zealand with Stephen Rhind-Tutt, the President and founder of Alexander Street Press. Stephen got a lot out of these sessions based primarily on the vocal and constructive feedback from attendees. Since that time Alexander Street Press has built an Australasian specific collection (Early Experiences in Australasia: Primary Sources and Personal Narratives 1788-1901), has concentrated on products with a more global outlook (such as World News Reels in Video, further counselling collections with cross-cultural content, new collections in the health sciences, a wider range of classical composers in our Classical Scores Library Volume II) and much more.
This year, Alexander Street Press are thrilled to have Greg Urquhart visit in October for a follow up session. Greg has two key roles; Vice-President of Business Development and leader of our Health Sciences editorial team.
Greg’s session will provide an update on the companies strategy as they continue to grow their business, including a move into new disciplines. A major focus will be gathering feedback and ideas of where they should go next. This truly is your opportunity to have a say in Alexander Stree Press collection development. Alexander Street Press would love to have you join them and help shape their publishing and technology plan to ensure it suits your needs.
Times and venues are yet to be fully confirmed, however Dan Hamid wanted to give you the chance to save the date. The Sydney session will be conducted on Tuesday October 9th 2012.
Sessions will run for around two and a half hours. Alexander Street Press realise your time is valuable, and in recognition of your commitment will offer every institution who has a representative attending a $US 1,000 voucher off any outright purchase of Alexander Street Press collections made from the session date until the end of 2012.
Please contact Dan Hamid if you may be able to attend and he will confirm full details of the sessions in reply.
